Nonetheless I wish to revisit my memory bank and pen down a few highlights on this family holiday. This is my first blogpost in which I will talk about Dubai being a shoppers paradise and the mesmerizing beauty – Burj Khalifa.

Things We did and saw in Dubai

Mall Hopping

I am not such a big shopping addict, but like they say ” When in Rome do as the Romans do” So decided to go with the flow on this Dubai trip while enjoying shopping and window shopping. So I was  prepared to walk for miles at a stretch without complaining. Planned well and  carried my most comfortable footwear on this trip. Dubai is so well connected with the Metro and practically each station opens up into a Shopping Mall. Absolutely no need to take on the furnace-oven heat of the desert. When you can enjoy the most beautiful air conditioned Malls in the world. Some of the Malls we visited were

Deira City Centre – This Mall was very close to the service apartment we put up in so we visited twice. Some real genuine sales and discounts at that time.

Dubai mall

Mall of the Emirates – Its better known as a shopping resort, Mall of the Emirates has approx  2.4 million square feet of retail floor space. More than 630 high-end brands and fashion designers from around the world. If you get tired of shopping, there are still plenty of things to do at Mall of the Emirates. If you need the mood for some recreation then enjoy the games  at Magic Planet, a family theme park, or drop by the renowned indoor ski resort, Ski Dubai, for a day of skiing or snowboarding, tobogganing and playing with the penguins.

Burjuman mall

Burjuman Centre – Burjuman  Centre is one of the oldest malls in Dubai, situated near Burjuman Metro Station. But it has been renovated and looks fantastic. The attractions include a magic planet, cinema, large food hall, lots of kids clothes and toy shops, heaps of clothes, makeup and gifts for adults and above all, a large Carrefour supermarket.

Ibn Battuta Mall –

The mall is so unique, it is divided into six courts, each reflecting the different regions through which Ibn Battuta ( an ancient explorer) travelled – Andalusia, Tunisia, Egypt, Persia, India and China. The interior qill take your breath away. It was so nice to pwople feom all walks of life, dressed up and walking beside you.  What a wonderful world we live in to be able to experience amazing places, delicious food and great cultures in incredibly gorgeous settings like this awesome mall in Dubai. It felt like Alice in Wonderland.

Dubai Mall – Being the largest mall in the world, it is impossible to cover it in a day. It has everything your heat desires. From numerous restaurants, brands of the world, It even has an aquarium and underwater zoo that is breathtaking.

Burj khalifa

Burj Khalifa

The first sight of this Large gigantic structure was breath taking, I kept staring at it in disbelief. Slowly coming to terms with its height and magnitude. Burj Khalifa has redefined what is possible in the design and engineering of super tall buildings. Such a great experience to be able to view Dubai from the tallest building. Plenty of space to walk around and take photos. It dazzles in the sunlight during the day and is completely lit at at mesmerizing all the viewers and admirers of this tallest structure of the world.

Now one more place to visit was off my bucket list. In my next post we will visit the Dessert Safari, Gold Souk, Musical Fountains, take a trip on Dhou cruise.
