Shram Daan Day – By the team of Fevicol

Words that hold a lot of meaning for me. As a teacher, I often look up to everyday things that inspire my teaching-learning process. Small deeds done by everyday people & noble acts by unsung heroes inspire me. And I have to thank Fevicol for recently playing an important part in this.

 

Fevicols Noble Endeavour

Fevicol, a household name. It is the market leader in adhesive and sealants, construction chemicals, hobby colors, and polymer emulsions category in India. The brand name FEVICOL has become synonymous with adhesives to millions in India. And is ranked amongst the most trusted brands in India.

 

The Fevicol Champions Club (FCC) established in 2002, is an exclusive club for woodworkers and contractors and serves as a platform for the woodworkers and their families to learn and enhance personal and professional skills to further expand their business. They have been undertaking numerous activities for the benefit of society.  These include medical camps, blood donation, pulse polio, eye checkup, Swach Bharat Abhiyan cleanliness drive, Baal meal. And these are just a few,  Amazing Isn’t it?

 

Fevicol Champions Club- Last Year

Last year, FCC had reached out to 600 institutes. Shram Daan Diwas was celebrated across the country in cities like Mumbai, Delhi,Pune, Nagpur, Nasik, Ahmedabad, Baroda, Rajkot, Surat, Gandhinagar, Gondal, Amritsar, Ludhiana, Jalandhar, Meerut, Roorkee, Bareilly, Saharanpur, Bangalore, Chennai, Kolkata, Chandigarh, Patna and Jaipur to name a few. Woodworkers and carpenters came together to provide free labour to repair & refurbish institutes in these cities include like blind schools, tribal schools, schools for disabled, municipal schools, orphanage, government schools and hospitals, old age homes amongst others that are operated by NGO’s and our government.

 

 

Shram Daan Day by the Fevicol Champion Club (FCC)

This year the city of Mumbai saw 3430 carpenters come together on 20th and 21 st December 2015 where they repaired 52 institutions. Quite admirably. These woodworkers and contractors donated a day’s labour free of cost to repair and refurbish furniture at around 800 NGOs, beneficiary schools, hospitals, and institutions for underprivileged children. A unique PanIndia community initiative called #ShramDaanDay has held over 320 cities across the country. The FCC members have gone out of their way to do various other noble initiatives for a needy community.

This included creating a special type of soundproof plywood in a classroom for students of Deaf and Dumb School, undertaking free repair work for an institute with no monetary assistance, building cement and china benches for a 100-year-old crematorium supporting through flood relief funds, among others. Take a Bow FCC you have shown everyone the way to do a  good deed without any ulterior motive.

Just as a good teacher plays the role of an educator, guide, inspirational guru, and a friend. The FCC has shown the righteous path of doing a good a deed through their initiative called # ShramDaanDay and helping out in the right way.

A preschool teacher, social media influencer, lifestyle & food blogger. Added hobbies are travel, movies, and fashion, going for events, socializing, networking and making new friends.
